LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Rain chances will be below normal for the rest of the week...

Overall the weather will be warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s each day. Rain chances will be limited Wednesday through the weekend.

By the weekend upper level high pressure will develop to our southwest and this should keep rain chances even lower. But that also means it will be warmer with most areas reaching the low 90s for afternoon highs except right along the coast.

We are now in hurricane season, but there are no signs of anything that could impact SWLA over the next week. The National Hurricane Center outlined an area off the SE US coast for non-tropical development, again this is not a threat to our area.
