CROWN POINT — A Lake Station man was sentenced to the maximum prison term allowed by his plea agreement after he fatally shot a 36-year-old man 11 times in 2023 inside the man's home, then left him for dead until his body was found by his teenage daughter.
Michael Randall, 47, was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, a level two felony, in the death of Kyle Cornelius, 36, in exchange for prosecutors agreement to drop charges of murder and theft against him. Level two felonies carry a possible sentence of 10 to 30 years in prison.
Randall shot Cornelius Feb. 22, 2023 inside Cornelius' home in the 2300 block of Warren Street in Lake Station after he went to Cornelius' home to allegedly pay him money he owed him. Randall had
