Two people have been arrested in a contraband bust at a state prison.

The Alabama Department of Corrections tells Action 8 News that K-9 personnel were notified about a trespasser Monday at Easterling Correctional Facility and later a suspicious vehicle at a nearby store.

A deputy with the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office arrested the driver, Shaquasia Owens.

The K-9 team, while tracking the trespasser, discovered and confiscated two backpacks.

The trespasser, identified as Lashawn Lamar, was later arrested at a nearby home.

Officials say the contraband included 686 grams of methamphetamine, 850 grams of marijuana, 166 grams of synthetic cathinones
