Troy Beam lost his job for barging into three Cumberland County polling places with dire warnings about rigged voting machines in November 2023.
But he didn’t commit a crime.
So said a Cumberland County jury Tuesday as they found Beam not guilty of six misdemeanor counts of using his powers to try to interfere with voting day processes at three Shippensburg-area precincts.
The six counts— three each of attempted official oppression and attempted obstruction of government functions —carried the prospect of jail time for Beam.
One juror reached after the verdict was delivered Tuesday stressed the panel’s decision was in no way an endorsement of Beam’s actions that day.
