CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Despite gathering enough feedback from members to go through with a formal vote of no confidence against CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police was not able to gather enough votes to "validate an outcome."

Over the last nine days, the FOP conducted a formal voting period, both in-person and online, for members after a preliminary vote was held amongst its over 2,000 members.

Voting concluded Tuesday night, and the number of votes the FOP received "was not enough to validate an outcome."

"We appreciate our members who voted and those who support us in our mission to improve the law enforcement profession," the release from the Char-Meck FOP says.
