KAYSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) -- There are three senior activity centers in Davis County, and all three need volunteers. The volunteers are needed particularly to help Meals on Wheels, which is seeing a higher demand for its services, less funding and fewer volunteers.
One of the centers that needs help is the Central Davis Senior Activity Center in Kaysville. Monday through Friday, a small group of volunteers meets at the center to pack around 100 meals to deliver to seniors nearby.
In total, the three senior activity centers deliver about 350 meals daily.
“The route that I do takes about two and a half hours because it’s quite a long route, but I figure two and a half hours one day a week is nothing,” Marci Harvey told ABC4.
