TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa Bay leaders are back here at the Capitol in Tallahassee to finish what they started: the state budget.
Lawmakers said they have mixed emotions heading into this week, and as they fight for local priorities and allocations, there's some uncertainty about what's in and what's out.
So, what's being discussed?
House and Senate leadership reached an agreement that includes $2.25 billion in recurring revenue reductions. It would also include a state debt reduction, permanent sales tax exemptions for Florida families, while the same time getting rid of the businesses rent tax.
"I think that they split it," said State Sen. Jay Collins, R-Hillsborough. "They ended up in a good space. Do I love everything in it? No, I don't. Do I hate everything in it? No, absolu
