MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Barbara O’Neil said her son, Dominic, was shot and killed nearly two years ago.

O’Neil said it happened back on October 4, 2023, and Dominic had just left the house right around the corner. She said he was walking to Regional One to visit his girlfriend, who was about to give birth to their child.

O’Neil said she remembered hearing four gunshots at Tate Avenue and McKinley Street.

“I couldn’t believe it. We had just spoken to each other, and just to see my son lying there, it hurt me, and it still hurts me to this day. It’s heartbreaking,” she said.

Nearly two years later, O’Neil said she still doesn’t know who is responsible for the fatal shooting and why they did it.
