COVINGTON, Tenn. (WMC) - The Covington Police Department says that two suspects have been arrested and charged with robbing an ice cream man over the weekend.
CPD says 25-year-old Larenzion Cooper, of Memphis, and an unidentified 17-year-old Covington boy are both facing charges. A third suspect remains at large.
“Really guys, the ice cream man!!!!” the department said in a release Tuesday.
CPD reports that a “beloved” ice cream truck driver called police at 7:30 p.m. Saturday from Broadmeadows Apartments along Peeler Road in Covington.
He told police that multiple assailants entered his ice cream truck without permission and took his tip jar after failing to snatch it from outside the truck. He said the thieves broke the mount that held the jar in place and took an undisclosed amoun
