LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. —

A Lee's Summit police officer who was shot four times on Sunday has been released from the hospital.

The department identified him as Officer Jared Timbrook. Advertisement

Timbrook was shot while pursuing a suspect in a domestic violence case, according to the department.

He was treated at the scene by fellow officers and transported to a trauma center by Lee’s Summit Fire Department paramedics.

Timbrook has been with the Lee’s Summit Police Department for about 18 months and has seven years of prior law enforcement experience.
