MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a man who reportedly robbed a Subway worker at gunpoint after custom-ordering a sandwich.

MPD says the crime occurred around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the fast food chain located at 2938 Covington Pike near Bartlett.

Investigators determined that an unknown man wearing a black ski mask went inside and placed an order at the counter.

Once his sandwich was bagged and reached the checkout counter, MPD says the masked man drew a black handgun with an extended magazine, demanding that the worker give him cash from the register.

The Subway worker complied and opened the cash drawer for the suspect, who leaned over and stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.
