STANFORD UNIVERSITY – An undergraduate student riding an electric bicycle was killed in a collision with a car over the weekend at Stanford University, police and school officials said.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Palm Drive and Arboretum Road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Jovita Ojeda.

The student was rushed to nearby Stanford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A university official identified the student as sophomore Aradshar Chaddar.

Chaddar was born in Maryland and came to Stanford in the fall of 2023 from Pakistan, Vice Provost for Student Affairs Michele Rasmussen said in a message Monday.

Chaddar served as president of the Stanford Democrats and belonged to Alpha Kappa Psi and the Pre-Law Society, according to R
