DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Hundreds of thousands of dollars are rolling out to organizations in Durham that are focused on empowering youth.

On Tuesday night during a ceremony downtown, 15 nonprofits received the first round of funding through the Bull City Future Fund.

Spearheaded by Mayor Leonardo Williams, the fund will pay out more than $300,000, with each organization receiving between $10,000 to $50,000.

The organizations that received funding were: • Durham Success Summit • El Futuro • Echo • Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties • Made in Durham • Purpose Learning Lab, Inc • The Premier Drop-In Studio • POOF Teen Center • StandUp-SpeakOut of North Carolina • GRACED, Inc. • Youth Mentoring Collaborative • G.R.O.W.T.H. NC • SIDEKICKS Academy • BUM
