HUNTINGTON, W.Va (WCHS) — The Cabell County Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of changing school start times for middle and high school students.

"It's not just a matter of kids having difficulty getting out of bed, it's much more concerning than that," Vice President of Cabell County Board of Education, Linda Childers said.

Childers said this change wouldn't happen overnight.

"If in the future, in the distant future, if there came a time when we said, okay, we're going to move the start time a half an hour later, we would announce it way ahead of time so that the community could adjust."

A big reason for this proposal is for students to get more sleep on school nights to better concentrate in class.
