Severe thunderstorms swept across Jackson County on Tuesday, bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and reports of storm damage across communities.

A video captured by witnesses showed an ambulance veering off the road due to strong wind gusts and reduced visibility from the rain.
At the Jackson County Sports Complex, debris was seen blowing around the Kauffman Stadium parking lot. A traffic camera also recorded an overturned semi-truck on Interstate 435 near the stadiums.
In Independence, a large tree crashed onto a home near Mayfield Avenue and 47th Street. Footage showed visible cloud rotation as the storm system pushed east through the city.
