YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio - Senior Master Sgt. Robert “Rob” Mitchell, 41, a loadmaster with the 910th Operations Group, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, after a brief battle with brain cancer.

The Youngstown Air Reserve Station Command Post was notified of Mitchell’s death on Wednesday. He died at the home of his cousin, Jon.

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Senior Master Sgt. Robert Mitchell, a beloved 910th Airlift Wing member,” said Col. Chris E. Sedlacek, 910th Airlift Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Robert’s family and friends during this time.
