WHEELING — The July 4 holiday might be called Independence Day, but Oglebay Park Resort isn’t limiting the festivities to just one 24-hour span.

The resort announced on Tuesday a four-day schedule for its annual “Salute To Patriotism” event that will be held at various sites around Oglebay from July 3-6. Live music, food and fireworks all will be part of the fun.

“The more opportunities we have to engage with the community and bring them up to Oglebay Park, the better,” said Wheeling Park Commission President and CEO Bob Peckenpaugh.

The schedule kicks off with Oglebay’s big fireworks show on the evening of Thursday, July 3. Earlier that afternoon, families will be able to celebrate around Schenk Lake with music from DJ Daner and an inflatable fun zone. A foam party and live music from
