NORFOLK, Va.(WAVY)-- Police in Norfolk are investigating an overnight shooting that left a woman hurt.

According to police, officers were called to the 6300 block of Alexander Street just after 2 a.m. for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries is unclear at this time.

Just before midnight, NPD responded to a shooting on Chesapeake Boulevard where a man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
