Local community activists and advocates marked the five-year anniversary of George Floyd’s death by marching to keep his name and memory alive, addressing the toll his death and similar traumas have had on the Black community.

George Floyd was killed May 25, 2020, when a white Minneapolis police officer put a knee to his neck until he could no longer breathe. His death sparked international outrage and protest.
