SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The 17-year-old boy who pleaded guilty to fatally shooting a customer at an Akron drive-thru in February 2024, will be sentenced Wednesday in Summit County Court of Common Pleas.
Tyler Bartley was working as a clerk at Borders Drive Thru when Patrick Boergert showed up, said Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich.
Boergert, 47, was a passenger in a friend’s car.
Kolkovich said after Bartley saw Boergert, he reached through the back window and shot him.
Boergert’s friend quickly drove away and called 911.
EMS transported Boergert to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
