NEW YORK (PIX11) – An Air Quality Health Advisory has been issued for parts of New York on Wednesday due to ground-level ozone, according to the state’s Department of Environmental Protection.
The AQI is expected to reach 105. Sensitive groups, including young children, seniors and those with respiratory issues should avoid strenuous activities from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Pollen levels are also expected to be medium to high throughout the day.
Forecasters advise turning on the air conditioner for relief and clean air indoors throughout the day as temperatures build. Highs could reach the 80s, while temperatures may hit 90 degrees on Thursday.
