AURORA, Wis. — A 12-year-old boy died Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle that also hit a utility pole, causing a power outage in the Town of Aurora in eastern Florence County.
Florence County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls at 6:16 p.m. Monday that a vehicle had collided with the utility pole on County Road N east of Aurora Liquors, according to a news release from Florence County Sheriff Teresa Chrisman.
Deputies from the sheriff’s department and Florence County EMS found a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male had left the road and hit the 12-year-old boy and the power pole.
The boy was treated on site and in transit but later pronounced dead at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain.
