Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated on Wednesday that a U.S. offer regarding a nuclear deal goes against Iran’s national interests. He emphasized that Iran doesn’t need approval from the U.S. or any other country to make its own decisions. Khamenei said true independence means not relying on permission from countries like the United States, and he called the proposal completely opposed to the principles of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He also made it clear that Iran has no plans to stop enriching uranium, saying the nuclear program would be pointless without it. Questioning the U.S., he asked, “Who are you to decide if we can have a nuclear program or not?”
