GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A longstanding thrift shop in Gainesville is closing its doors this month.
For 20 years, The St. Patrick Thrift Shop has served as a staple consignment shop in Gainesville.
“This is my first time finding out the store is closing” Brenda Brooks, a shopper, said.
Jane Rodriguez is the sole volunteer manager of the shop, and she’s known for providing clothing for the homeless, furnishing for the less fortunate, and runs the store as her own.
“For the homeless, for the needy, for the sick, the pets, we’ve done just about everything to help as many people as we could” Jane Rodriguez, volunteer manager, said.
The shop offers endless bargains, with many items under $10, and even reaches beyond Gainesville.
“We have seen a lot of changes for the better we’ve helped
