Dear Pay Dirt,

Years ago, when my now ex-husband was in the process of moving out of our home, he claimed that I stole a valuable pocket watch that had belonged to his grandfather. I told him he was out of his mind: I hadn’t seen the pocket watch in years and if it was gone, he must have lost it. I even allowed him to search the house one last time before he left, and he found nothing.

Fast forward to now: While poking around a crawl space, I spotted a shoe box inside of a clear garbage bag covered with dust.
