HICKORY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – One person is still in the hospital after a deadly Catawba County mass shooting early Sunday morning. The FBI is asking for the public’s help to get any video in the surrounding area that could help them in the investigation.

We’re learning more about the man who died on Sunday, Shawn Patrick Hood. According to the Hickory Crawdads archives, he was a bullpen catcher in the late 90s.

Douglas Locascio met with Queen City News to dig up old team books and helped us to find a picture of Hood with the team.

“Not a lot of people want to catch a 90 to 100 mile per hour fastball coming at them,” Locascio said. “It’s definitely a well needed position.”
