A trial set to start this week for a former Youth Development Center worker charged with being an accomplice to aggravated felonious sexual assault in the 1990s is being delayed.
The prosecution requested a delay in the trial against James Woodlock because of issues raised by the defense on one indictment in the case, which has been dismissed. A scheduling conference will take place on June 10.
Woodlock’s attorney, Richard Guerriero, filed a motion to dismiss calling the dropped indictment “fatally flawed.” The dropped indictment calls into question the validity of the remaining 2021 indictments.
Judge William Delker denied the motion to dismiss last week.
