TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A lawsuit was filed Tuesday against the Trump Administration, blocking it from eliminating Job Corps, the largest job training program for low-income youth in the U.S.

Representatives with Job Corps claim the U.S. Department of Labor, who funds the organization, is violating the law by abruptly shuttering the program last week.

For decades, Job Corps has provided 16-to-24-year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds with the ability to obtain high school diplomas, vocational certificates and licenses, and on-the-job training. The program currently serves about 25,000 people at 120 Job Corps centers across the country, including Tucson.
