When Julie Uribe steps into the home in the Eastridge neighborhood, she doesn’t just see the results of her hard work, she steps back into her childhood.
The longtime designer and Lincoln native has brought her personal history into the renovation of a mid-century modern home at 5941 Margo Drive, breathing new life into the house built in 1960.
“Every time I come in here, I really feel connected to my childhood, and now I’ve surrounded myself with things that were owned by my parents,” Uribe said.
Uribe, an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, spent 30 years in Los Angeles working in television and design before returning to Lincoln in 2016 to care for her parents.
