DENVER (KDVR) -- The 2026 race for one of the country's most competitive congressional districts is already looking to be a heated one, and a state official just announced a bid for the seat.
Colorado State Treasurer Dave Young on Wednesday morning announced his candidacy for Colorado's 8th Congressional District. As a Democrat, Young joins the growing list of state representatives and the former 8th Congressional District Rep. Yadira Caraveo herself, running to regain her seat after narrowly losing it in 2024 to current Rep. Gabe Evans.
Young, in a press release, called himself "the Democratic candidate best positioned to win this seat back from Republican control in November."
