BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A Bismarck Police squad car overturned Tuesday evening after being hit by a Subaru Outback towing a small boat.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), at about 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, a police car had its lights and sirens activated in south Bismarck. As it approached the intersection of Airport Road and Expressway, it was struck by the Subaru.

The squad car overturned onto the driver's side and the Subaru remained upright. Both drivers sustained minor injuries.

Eastbound traffic was diverted for about an hour. The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
