Three people were injured Wednesday morning in a four-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 25 near Thornton, according to the Northglenn Police Department.

A tractor-trailer and three cars crashed on southbound I-25 during the morning commute, temporarily shutting down the highway, the police department said in a 6:42 a.m. post on social media .

Southbound I-25 was closed between exit 221 for 104th Avenue and exit 220 for Thornton Parkway, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation .

It reopened just before 7 a.m., CDOT officials said.
