|Barely a month after the USF Board of Trustees formally approved the expenditure of $407 million for construction of its on-campus stadium project, the athletic director who presided over the project’s evolution reportedly is leaving.
Yahoo Sports reported Wednesday that seventh-year Bulls AD Michael Kelly is leaving for the same job at Navy. ESPN first reported Wednesday morning that Kelly, 54, was being targeted by the Midshipmen.
Kelly didn’t immediately respond to a text message Wednesday.
A Washington, D.C., native, Kelly would replace Chet Gladchuk, who retired in April after 24 years at Navy. Kelly’s father, Dennis, attended the U.S. Naval Academy and was a Naval officer who served in Vietnam. While growing up in the D.C. area, Kelly attended St. John’s College High School, a
