HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Sankofa Emancipation Project is giving new life to the spirit of Jubilee Day with a powerful art experience that connects modern-day Houstonians with the joy and legacy of their ancestors.

Award winning artist and educator Kristi Rangel along with artist and photographer April Frazier from the Community Artists’ Collective and Beck & Call Hospitality stopped by CW39 Houston to talk with anchor Sharron Melton about the project and its mission to honor Black history through creativity and community celebration.
