A father and son from Campbell Hall were arrested for allegedly stealing more than $1.2 million through fraudulent Medicaid transportation billing in Ulster County, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel C. Nneji.
Muhammad W. Khan, 40, owner of MAK Limo, and his father Mohammad A. Khan, 68, owner of Atlas Limo, are accused of inflating charges and billing Medicaid for rides that either never occurred or violated program rules. Both companies participated in the state Medicaid program and collectively received over $5.8 million in payments.
Investigators found that the two men improperly billed group rides as individual trips and offered kickbacks to patients to use their services. Muhammad W. Khan’s alleged fraudulent activ
