Authorities in New York have arrested a person in connection to last month's bombing outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, a federal spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY.

A man was taken into custody at JFK Airport in New York City overnight, Ciaran McEvoy, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, confirmed.

The FBI's Los Angeles division is holding a press conference to discuss "new developments in a significant matter involving national security" the Palm Springs Desert Sun, part of the USA TODAY Network is reporting. An FBI spokesperson directed a Desert Sun reporter to the press conference when asked about the arrest.

McEvoy said the news conference is set for 9:15 a.m. PST.
