Alex Cora reached his breaking point regarding the pathetic stretch the Red Sox have been on. The team lost their seventeenth one-run game on Tuesday night (I’m calling it 18, the walk-off extra-inning grand slam by Christian Yelich counts in my book). He admitted that much of that falls on him. “We keep making the same mistakes. We’re not getting better. At one point, it has to be on me, I guess, right? I’m the manager.”

The Red Sox passed the Rockies (who are on pace for the worst record in MLB history) for the league lead in errors on Tuesday night. Cora continued, “Routine ground balls for double plays, we don’t turn. We throw to the wrong bases. We miss cut-off guys. [Pitcher fielding practices] were horrible. There’s a lot of bad right now.”
