JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - The owner of a Jackson apartment complex that was covered in piles of trash has filed for bankruptcy.
In May, residents told WJTV 12 News about the issues at Chapel Ridge Apartments. Trash piled up across the complex after dumpsters were removed because the owners stopped payments to their solid waste bill.
City Attorney Drew Martin told the Jackson City Council on June 3 that the owner filed for bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He said the filing is good and bad news for the city.
