The start of construction of the Buc-ees at Oak Grove has been pushed back.
WKDZ reports that Oak Grove Mayor Jackie Oliver gave the update at a city council meeting on Tuesday. Oliver said that utilities need to be run to the site and intersection upgrades will need to be made. She indicated that construction of the over 50,000 square foot travel center can begin before all those are complete, but those projects must be finished before they can open.
Now, the project that was announced back in 2024 won't begin until late 2025 or early 2026.
