Griffith Park — The nearly century-old Griffith Park Public Pool is set to be demolished and replaced.

Closed since the pandemic, the pool had such bad leaks in the foundation that a scheduled reopening in 2022 was canceled . Plans now call for the massive 225-foot-long pool to be replaced by two smaller facilities: a 50-meter-long (164-feet), 25-yard-wide competition pool; and a 25-yard-by-25-yard splash pad.

The $30 million renovation project also includes:

Interior reconstruction and rehabilitation, as well as a structural retrofit of the Spanish Colonial Revival-style pool house.

A path from the bus stop on Los Feliz Blvd. and Riverside Drive to the playground and pool facility.
