BOSTON —
Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Leah Foley is firing back at Boston Mayor Michelle Wu for her recent criticism of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
In a video posted Wednesday to X, Foley called the mayor's statements "reckless and inflammatory."
"Every enforcement action is conducted within the bounds of the Constitution and our laws, with oversight, legal justification and accountability. To claim otherwise is a gross misrepresentation and disservice to the public," Foley said.
Wu recently said in an interview that people are "terrified" amid ongoing ICE arrests.
Foley stressed that federal officers will not apologize for their efforts to enforce immigration law.
