ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — An 18-year-old pleaded guilty to manslaughter after a car crash left another teenager dead.
Anthony Barnes, Jr. pleaded guilty in court Wednesday to second-degree manslaughter. This comes a year after a crash that killed 14-year-old Jazzmeir Mouzon-Henton.
On May 3, 2024, officers responded to the scene of a crash on Bloss Street, which involved an overturned stolen car. They found multiple children and teenagers inside the car, including Barnes and Mouzon-Henton.
Mouzon-Henton was among the minors found in the crash. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and died days later.
Barnes, who was 17 years old at the time, was identified as the driver of the stolen car and was accused of driving recklessly. The Monroe County DA's Office says he will be sentenced b
