ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 13-year-old boy has been charged after an investigation into a video on social media by the Rochester Police Department.

Police said they became aware of the video last week that showed a marked patrol vehicle traveling on Durnan Street. In the video, a male was seen pointing what police said appeared to be a handgun at the vehicle as it passed by with an RPD officer inside.

An investigation to identify the suspect brought officers to a 13-year-old boy living on Durnan Street.

The teen was taken into custody on Tuesday at a nearby corner store and transported to Family Court, where he was arraigned and released.

RPD has reported that no firearms have been recovered thus far in connection with the incident.
