YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (WFLA) — Webcam video captured an eruption at the Black Diamond Pool in Biscuit Basin at Yellowstone National Park Saturday.
The video, taken at 8:39 p.m., shows the blast emerging out of a thermal pool, spraying water several feet into the air.
This explosion resembles a larger hydrothermal explosion that happened at the same location back in July 2024 and resulted in the basin's closure.
Since then, Biscuit Basin has been closed to the public for hazard assessments.
The webcam that captured the latest eruption was installed on May 14 to further assist in monitoring the pool and surrounding area.
