MINNEAPOLIS — Law enforcement leaders are reacting to the fallout from a raid conducted by a federal task force on a restaurant in Minneapolis that led to a tense face-to-face standoff with a large group of protesters.
Both Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara and Mayor Jacob Frey told reporters that they only learned the feds would be executing search warrants at Taqueria y Birrieria las Cuatro Milpas on Tuesday morning, O'Hara as he was conducting roll call with his officers. By then, the raid was already underway, and while the chief was aware warrants were being executed, he did not know what they pertained to.
