John Curtis will make its longest road trip yet when the Patriots open the football season in September with a game in California.
Athletic directory Johnny Curtis said Wednesday the school will face Cathedral of Los Angeles on Friday, Sept. 5, in the California Classic hosted by San Juan Hills High School.
The game will have a 6 p.m. New Orleans time kickoff and will be streamed live on YouTube by the John Curtis broadcast team.
All players are trying to raise $300 to cover travel, food and lodging expenses for the four-day trip that will span from Thursday to Sunday that week. The team will arrive Thursday and practice, play the game Friday and hold a morning practice on Saturday.
After that will be an array of possible sightseeing options.
