GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Gastonia Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident Wednesday around 4 a.m. involving a vehicle traveling northbound on 321, when it overturned into Long Creek.
Firefighters arrived on scene and removed the patient, who was transported to a nearby hospital.
GFD requested the response of their Hazmat team along with Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services for the possibility of gasoline and motor oil leaking into Long Creek.
Upon further examination, no gasoline was found to be leaking and a small amount of motor oil had leaked into the creek, but was diluted and hazmat concerns were mitigated.
