Snow is expected to fall across some parts of the UK during June, the Met Office has confirmed.

Forecasters at the national weather agency said a mix of snow and rain could be possible - even at this time of the year.

Parts of Scotland could see snowfall this week, something the Met Office said is not 'unheard of' during June.

But others areas of Britain are unlikely to see similar weather patterns.

Referring to media reports about the possibility of snow, the Met Office said: "A cold front is responsible for the change in the UK’s weather, which is seeing a shift to wetter and windier weather on Tuesday and into Wednesday.
