The Phoenix Suns have found their new coach. Per multiple reports, the Suns will name Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Jordan Ott as coach. Ott has been an NBA assistant since 2012 and was a video coordinator at Michigan State before beginning his NBA career.

Ott and fellow Cavs assistant Johnnie Bryant were the two finalists for the job. Suns owner Mat Ishbia and general manager Brian Gregory led a lengthy, deliberate search that lasted 1 1/2 months and included more than a dozen candidates

Ott was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers from 2022-24 before joining coach Kenny Atkinson’s staff in Cleveland last season. Before that, Ott served as an assistant coach with the Brooklyn (2016-22), where he worked under Atkinson for the first four seasons of his time with the Nets.
