RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Full access has been restored to a cemetery in Raleigh after nearby construction made it difficult to reach, officials said Wednesday.
The cemetery on Hedingham Boulevard near New Bern Avenue was previously located behind Elevation Baptist Church. After the church building was demolished, construction began on a car wash to take its place. • (Project Builders) • (Project Builders) • (Project Builders)
Ulyssia Seawell, whose family is buried at the cemetery, said access became difficult after construction began at the car wash. The parking lot was removed and the path to the gate was narrow and covered in leaves.
On Wednesday, contractor Project Builders said the security and silt fences in the area had been removed, restoring full access to the cemetery. All
